Artist's Comments

The image I used (which can be found full sized here) is a t-shirt logo I had made for my dojo that my sensei rejected. I plan to sell it as a regular shirt design once I get my business back up and running.

I specifically used the term martial arts because the word "karate" literally means "empty hand", and not all martial arts are preformed empty handed.

If I knew how to place stamps in my journal, I probably would. Hooray for Aikido!

It's not easy being insane. But I'm willing to do what it takes...
Besides without people like me, all the normal people would lead such boring lives.

Just copy/paste the text area where it says "thumb" on the right of the description. Unfortunately, you need a subscription for it to work ^_^;;

It's a nice stamp, but I can't read the words. Perhaps a thinner font for the use of the internet...

I do like the image though, and wish I could use it. That would mean learning a martial art though..

Hee, well, I had everyone from newbies to senseis in mind when I made this XD So have at it

I'm currently a second degree brown belt (two belts from black) in Tae Kwon Do and a yellow belt in Hap Ki Do =3 Though my dominant style where I made it up to my first degree brown used to be Goju Shorei, which is very similar to Tae Kwon Do. I would have been a black belt by now except various life/health problems keep popping up that keep forcing me to put my training on hold e_e I've also dabbled a bit in Akido (which is similar to Hap Ki Do) and Shoulyn Kung-Fu, though I didn't make it very far in either of those. I really want to train in Southern Praying Mantis, but it's an extremely rare style and from what I understand you need an invitation to learn it (yet, ironically, my family doctor has trained in it)

What style is it you're learning? =3

Great :D

Oh, sweet :O I remember reading somewhere that you were close to being a blackbelt, but stuff came up :| I haven't heard of any of those except for Tae Kwon Do and Akido, but I'll have to read into them now. :lol: Maybe your family doctor could get you in to Southern Praying Mantis.

I'm training at a Tatsu Do dojo. Which .. Hanshi Cavalier developed in Rochester (which is an hour away from where I live now-- funny funny :D-- probably not a huge coincidence, I don't think it's wide-spread).

good mix...all you're missing are the cruder grappling styles and weapon arts.

Too bad I haven't a subscription. :(
I love it.
I'm a 1st kyu Shotokan Karateka and I took up wushu this year. Martial arts just rule.
